And I'll pass on your well-deserved compliments to Tom Williams, whom I'll be seeing later today at a small celebration he's holding for the Waterloo 200th anniversary.

Best Wishes: AntoineAntoine Vannerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00490972848447907013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4406619839841800067.post-69668610270524370552015-06-19T10:55:08.572-07:002015-06-19T10:55:08.572-07:00Good article, particularly drawing attention to ca...Good article, particularly drawing attention to cashing in on phony peace dividends after a long war. I remember how scary the world was after Vietnam when ill-advised US leadership decided to cash in peace dividends of those days, and temporarily may have found themselves weaker than the Soviet Union. I remember reading about Syria having the latest fighter planes while we still old stuff. I threw that in the face of a peacenik Democrat running for office who visited as a guest speaker the Lutheran teachers college where I was a student Fortunately President Carter realized half-way through his one term in office what a big mistake had been made. Then Reagan took office and with the support of your wonderful Maggie Thatcher, reinforced by General Sir John Hackett's insightful World War II cautionary novels, we (the free world) dodged the bullet, atomic or otherwise. Thank you Antoine for introducing us to another significant UK author to read. Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08538035338431152912noreply@blogger.com
